Travia Harrison
PrePrimary IV

Montessori Teacher

Ms. Harrison is a PrePrimary IV Montessori Teacher at Suzuki’s Buckhead campus.  She offers an extensive knowledge of human development as she previously worked with a state-run group home, which led her to foster a love of nurturing young children.  Travia is a previous business owner, running her own bakery.  She uses this entrepreneurial experience to foster leadership and independence skills within the children- especially in the area of practical life.

Travia joined the Suzuki team in 2014 as an Associate in Level I.  After expanding her knowledge of working with infants, she found a home in Pre Primary.  She finds that her experience of working with adolescents has helped to guide Pre Primary-aged children through structured activity.  She enjoys watching their eyes shine as they learn new words and master skills they have been practicing!

Travia says that watching children grow and impact one another excites her.  She is motivated by the children to create new lessons which help them develop their problem-solving skills, and to honor the process by which children learn to sequence materials and routines.

In her spare time, Travia enjoys baking, cooking dishes from different cultures, and finding exciting movies.  She also assists friends and family to learn how to bake easy dishes that they can serve on their own.

Travia obtained a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development from Georgia Southern University. She is a certified Montessori Infant-Toddler Teacher with the American Montessori Society.
