2018-2019 School Year and Annual Re-enrollment Process

We are so thankful for a successful first half of the 2017-2018 school year and are eager to look ahead to the Summer and Fall Sessions.  We are grateful in advance for your participation and communication during this process, as it is integral to ensuring a smooth transition to the next School Year!  In this communication, we’ve included all of the options and information you’ll need to ensure your child’s re-enrollment in the Summer/Fall Sessions, or, confirm his or her withdrawal or graduation plans. We have also included the tuition schedule and the annual calendar. Please be sure to take a few minutes to read through this communication and be in touch with any questions regarding your circumstance.

New to Suzuki? For those of you who are new to The Suzuki School, each February we ask that parents complete a re-enrollment process so that we can make plans for the new school year.

Quick and Easy! For most of you, the re-enrollment process is quick and straightforward, especially for those who plan to stay with us. You will be invoiced on the February tuition statement an annual re-enrollment fee of $200. You can include this in your February payment. As you will recall, we’ve worked to make this process even easier, and you no longer need to sign the Tuition Agreement since it is now perpetual!

Are you Saying Goodbye? If your child is graduating or withdrawing, we have outlined the steps you need to complete on an attached link. If your child is applying to private school or Georgia Pre-K, the re-enrollment process is slightly different, as outlined below.

Please click the re-enrollment link below which best suits you below the calendars which applies to you so that we may be notified of your plans. If you have more than one child at Suzuki, please complete one form for each child.

Please note that the end of the school year is May 25th. Because of how the calendar falls this year, you also have the option of having your child attend on May 31st.

2018-2019 Tuition and Preliminary Calendar

The monthly tuition for the 2018-2019 School Year, which begins on August 1, 2018 (a Wednesday) is as follows:

  • Infant Program:                                $1830
  • Pre-Primary and Primary:                $1745

The increase for 2018-2019 is approximately 2% and it is used to cover increases in operating costs.  If you've reviewed our Strategic Plan (which is linked on our Parent Portal) you will see that we continue to make major investments in teacher compensation and training. This year, we are adding a new support position at the school (Developmental Specialist).

Additionally, we are making a significant investment in new Associates with our onboarding and training, and have hired outside consultants, all in order to improve retention. Lastly, we have significantly increased Montessori teacher salaries.  In fact, the average Montessori teacher salary increase last year was 9% - a testament to their growth as professionals as well as our commitment to them!

2018-2019 Preliminary Calendar

Attached below also the preliminary calendar for 2018-2019 School Year, including Summer 2018. We have worked hard to honor our parents’ request to adjust our calendar and limit our closures. To that end, we have made the following changes:

  • We are eliminating late openings for our faculty meetings to three times a year (down from nine this prior school year).
  • In the past we have closed several times throughout the year for Teacher Work Days and faculty meetings.  This year, we have repurposed these days to teacher holidays to ensure no impact to parents, while also giving our teachers mental health days to rejuvenate and continue to be the outstanding teachers they are.
  • We have modified the summer closure in May starting in 2019.  We will be closed the entire week of Memorial Day instead of three days as in the past, and will add Limited Care days to accommodate parent needs during this week.

We hope that parents view these changes as a compromise, both honoring teacher needs and feedback as well as meeting parents’ needs for a full year program.
