Patrick Hawkins
Primary II

Montessori Teacher

Patrick Hawkins is a teacher with the Primary II teaching team at the Ponce City Market campus. He previously worked at both the Northside and Buckhead campuses in the Primary classrooms and at other private preschools before joining the Suzuki team. He is a strong leader in the Primary program at Suzuki! Patrick is always innovating and coming up with new ways to improve and rearrange the classrooms to best fit the children and their individual learning styles.

Mr. Patrick has been a member of the Suzuki team since September, 2011. Having had experience in both traditional and Montessori environments, Patrick believes the Montessori system of education is superior in every way. For him, the greatest value in Montessori education is that it instills a sense of independence and self worth in the child. Each child learns to do things on their own. Not only do they learn math and language, they learn to set the table, serve their own lunch, and clean up after. As they successfully complete these tasks with guidance from their teachers, he has experienced that their confidence sky rockets! Children leave Suzuki capable and confident little people ready to meet and overcome any of life’s challenges. Mr. Patrick especially enjoys working with the Primary-aged children because he enjoys carrying on detailed conversations during the day. He is always amazed by their astute observations.

In his spare time, Mr. Patrick loves to do arts and crafts and enjoys decorating! He also enjoys watching musicals with his family and friends.

Patrick is a graduate of Piedmont College in Drama Education, as well as Kennesaw State University where he earned a Masters in Teacher Leadership. Mr. Patrick is also a certified Montessori Teacher with the American Montessori Society.
