Laura Falconi
Primary IIi

Montessori Teacher

Laura Falconi is an Montessori Teacher in the Primary III classroom at the Buckhead Campus. Laura joined the Suzuki School in June 2016.  Previous to joining the Suzuki School, Laura had a varied career that took her through Central and South America.  She started as an Industrial Psychologist in Ecuador, and has had a variety of positions, including working as a psychologist and also a missionary working with low income, at risk families. After immigrating to the United States she volunteered at the Emory Autism Center and then taught at Peachtree Road Lutheran Preschool as both as a classroom teacher and as the school’s Spanish instructor.

Laura has enjoyed her transition to that of a teacher. She has found that children challenge her in new ways every day, and feels that they make her a better person. She enjoys helping children learn new concepts. She first became aware of the Suzuki School when taking the Montessori Early Childhood Course at the Montessori Teacher Education Institute of Atlanta. She wanted to join the Suzuki faculty because she believes in the commitment the school makes to teacher education.

Ms. Falconi has two adult daughters who live in Atlanta. In her spare time she enjoys watching movies and running. She also devours the news on the political environment in South America. In her travels, she has studied and worked in Ecuador, Bolivia, Mexico, and the United States.

Laura is truly a lifelong learner. She first earned a BA in Industrial Psychology from the Central University of Ecuador. She then went on to get her Masters in Special Education in Quito, Ecuador. Later she moved to Mexico to work on her PhD (for which she plans to defend her thesis in the future). She also studied in Chicago at the Northern Baptist Theology Seminary where she got a BA in Counseling and Theology. She is a certified Montessori Teacher through AMS.
