Montessori Teacher


Alex is a Montessori Teacher with the PrePrimary 1 teaching team at the Northside Campus.   During her college studies Alex worked in a Montessori Elementary School as an Associate, and also did her student teaching in a traditional elementary school in both kindergarten and first grade.  Alex has always had a strong affinity young children, and while in college also worked as a nanny.

Alex joined the Suzuki faculty in the summer of 2015 after coming to Atlanta to interview for a faculty position at the Suzuki School.  She was instantly drawn to the school because of the welcoming community and the positive energy that not only was exhibited by the faculty, but which was also very apparent in the students.  What was evident to Alex both during the interviews and since is that the love of learning is shared amongst teachers and students alike!

In her spare time, Alex is a member of the Jr. League of Atlanta. She enjoys volunteering in the community, especially working with children in need.

Watkins graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia majoring in Integrative Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood Education.  Alex is attending the Montessori Teacher Education Institute, and looks forward to becoming a certified AMS Montessori Infant-Toddler Teacher.
