Suzuki Principles

Preparatory Preschool Atlanta Suzuki Principles social growthOur program and our teaching are based on the close observation of each child in order to provide the necessary tools for consistent cognitive, emotional and social growth.

Only by developing awareness through watching and listening to the needs and interests of each child are we able to tailor our programming to his or her specific needs.

Preparatory Preschool Atlanta Suzuki Principles teachersAll children are born with natural talent and ability which should be developed at a very young age. We recognize that the majority of brain development occurs in the first years of life and requires both nurture and stimulating experiences.

  • The development of natural talent and ability is dependent upon the early nurture and training given to the child.
  • The early years from birth to five are crucial in providing stimulation and opportunities for growth in all areas of development.
  • The learning process must closely follow the individual child’s development as he or she masters basic skills. Only then may the teacher and child move on to more complex matters.
  • An environment rich in language, music, art and imaginative play allows for each child’s individual talent and ability to flourish.

  • The natural desire of the parent is to teach through love, providing the child with an eagerness for discovery and growth.
  • A child’s first educational experience is in the home. Yet, as parents seek out an educational experience and environment for their child, it is crucial for the success of this endeavor that the parent and teacher work as partners to provide the best learning experience for the child.

Preparatory Preschool Atlanta Suzuki Principles kids learningA rich and stimulating environment is required to develop natural talent and ability through repetition, praise and reinforcement which accelerate the mastery of new skills in young children. The curriculum, based on the recognition of this unique period in life, is structured to give each child the necessary tools for independence and discovery.

  • A wide variety of enriching activities are necessary to awaken a love of learning.
  • Experiences in music, drama, movement, literature and arts incorporated into the basic curriculum increase the child’s natural wonder at the world and enjoyment of life.
  • A child’s natural vitality is further developed by the attitude of those around him.
  • Young children in the first two years are taught foundational skills which focus on self-help, fine and large motor development and language.
  • Children in years three through five use the abilities acquired during the early years to master new skills as they are offered lessons in math, reading and handwriting.

Preparatory Preschool Atlanta Suzuki Principles Noble heartWe must develop in children a “Noble Heart”, providing a learning environment that develops empathy and kindness.

  • A complete education encompasses knowledge of and respect for every human being.
  • When nurtured by love, the child is honored and will respond in kind. This response allows for the development of respect.
  • A child must learn to respect others so knowledge can be properly shared. This respect stems from positive experiences and consistent achievement.
  • Respect leads to understanding, which engenders confidence. Confidence in one’s self leads to independence.
  • Instilling respect, honor and independence through love creates in the child a “Noble Heart.”
